Bob Vander Plaats, a very strong pro-family Christian leader in Iowa, endorsed Mike Huckabee in 2008, and we respectfully urge him to endorse Huckabee again. (Photo by IowaPolitics.com on Flickr [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons.)
The liberal media is once again attempting to assure that the Republican presidential candidate will be either a liberal, or else someone they consider politically naive, and therefore weak and likely to fail. They do this by giving their choices extensive free press coverage and lots of time to speak during debates, while giving the strongest conservative candidates as little press coverage as possible, and no significant time to speak during debates. Their obvious current top picks are Donald Trump, who has a long record of supporting liberal Democrat politicians and policies, and Ben Carson, whom they consider a novice, totally lacking the training for the brutal battle of a general presidential election.
For instance, Carson’s plan for a minimum wage automatically adjusted to inflation would result in perpetual inflation, and shows that he knows nothing about economics.
Much more disturbing is the fact that Carson appears to have endorsed pro-sodomite policies while serving on the board of directors of Costco and Kellogg.
Also, is a doctor truly pro-life if he sometimes refers a woman for an abortion? Consider what Carson told the Baltimore Sun in a Sept. 1992 article about abortion:
As a physician who does not believe in abortion, when faced with a patient who has severe medical problems, I would refer someone for an abortion. I believe that person needs to hear both sides … I would never advocate it’s illegal for a person to get an abortion. I think in the long run we do a lot of harm when we bludgeon people. (Doctors are divided on abortion.)
Note that Gov. Mike Huckabee, the candidate with the most government executive experience, has been asked very few questions during the debates, and the questions he has been asked have been questions of no importance—designed to prevent him from presenting his conservative stand on important issues. Fox Business announced today that it has bumped Huckabee down to the undercard debate. I do not believe that Huckabee actually polled less than Paul or Kasich or Fiorina; but if it is true, it is because the elitist media lords know that Huckabee is a very skilled communicator with positions that will be very popular if known, and are therefore doing everything in their power to stop him from presenting his message.
There are two exceptionally strong conservative candidates for president: one is Ted Cruz, and the other is Mike Huckabee. I love Ted Cruz. He is a true conservative of great courage and conviction. His stand against corruption in the Senate is beautiful to behold. I pray regularly for Ted Cruz. But, unfortunately, Cruz was born in Canada before his Cuban father became a US citizen, and so some believe that he is not a natural born citizen, and therefore not Constitutionally qualified to be president. What is a “natural born citizen”? Cruz says, Let the voters decide. But if he is challenged on this it will not be the voters that decide. It will be the Supreme Court. Consider this:
Indeed, the Naturalization Act of 1790, passed three years after the U.S. Constitution was written, said that “the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens.”
But as the CRS pointed out in its report, the 1790 law was superseded by the Naturalization Act of 1795, which changed the language from “natural born citizens” to just “citizens.”
So there is still some lingering uncertainty about Cruz’s eligibility. That’s because the Supreme Court hasn’t ruled on the meaning of “natural born citizen,” which the Constitution doesn’t define.
This is not the first time that a Republican presidential candidate faced such questions. As we have written before, John McCain, who was the Republican nominee in 2008, was born to U.S. citizens in the Panama Canal Zone, and Barry Goldwater, who was the party’s nominee in 1964, was born to U.S. citizens in Arizona before it was a state. George Romney, who was born to U.S. citizens in Mexico, ran for president in 1968, but did not win the nomination.
Even Duggin, who wrote in her 2013 article that “a scholarly consensus is emerging … that anyone who acquires citizenship at birth is natural born for purposes of Article II,” acknowledges that the issue may not be settled.
“In the absence of a definitive Supreme Court ruling — or a constitutional amendment — the parameters of the clause remain uncertain,” she wrote.
What if Cruz should win the primary or general election, his eligibility is challenged by his opponent, and then the liberal-dominated Supreme Court rules that he doesn’t qualify, what would then happen? Can we risk finding out? Mike Huckabee is just as courageous as Cruz, is an even stronger conservative, has much more government executive experience, and does not have Cruz’s questionable qualification problem. I believe that the greatest service that Cruz could give to the USA would be to replace super-corrupt Mitch McConnell as leader of the Senate.
The USA is in a vicious culture war between atheist and theist worldviews—worldviews which in perpetual conflict. The Supreme Court’s recent redefinition of marriage by activist atheist judges (the dissenting judges declaring the ruling totally unConstitutional) usurped the power of the Legislature, and undermined true families, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Trump, and Kasich said that we should submit to that anti-freedom ruling. Huckabee courageously and rightly pointed out that the Supreme Court has no authority to make laws, and vows to nullify that abominable, wicked decision.
Due to the undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s unborn-baby-murder business, the wickedness of abortion is now overwhelmingly obvious. Yet the atheist religion will always promote baby murder as a woman’s choice. Rich men have offered to support Huckabee with big bucks if he would only compromise on abortion and gay marriage, but Huckabee turned them down. Isn’t that the kind of character that we need in our commander-in-chief? I suspect that most of Huckabee’s support is coming from poor and middle-class individuals at $5 to $50 per donation. He will be indebted only to the American people to keep his promises. Many of the candidates have made promises to billionaires, and so will owe them favors. Trump, will owe favors to his liberal billionaire media lord friends who are giving him multiplied millions of dollars worth of free media coverage.
We need to choose a presidential candidate that has a long record of effectively standing for conservative ideas. We must not risk choosing someone new with no record, who may be deceptively claiming to believe like us in order to get our votes, then once elected will do just the opposite. And we need a man with clear policies, not someone, like Trump, who hides his policies under the excuse of not wanting to be predictable. The man we know the best is Mike Huckabee. From his record as governor of Arkansas, from his 2008 campaign, from his books, and from his television and radio programs the last seven years, we have seen a consistent stand for conservative convictions. And he is a true conservative in all areas: fiscally, socially, and in foreign policy. He is not a libertarian (which means, fiscally conservative, but socially liberal) as are many of the other republican candidates. Huckabee is the most conservative of all the candidates.
Abroad, we are involved in debilitating wars that our leaders do not have the guts or love of country to win. The USA is no longer respected or feared—her influence is evaporating. Obama has denied funds needed to maintain our military. Obama has systematically destroyed our nuclear weapons, as our enemies built theirs. He has repeatedly declared red lines which our enemies have mockingly crossed. He has supported our enemies, and betrayed or friends. Our best generals have been replaced with sodomites. Our soldiers are rendered sitting ducks by treasonous Rules of Engagement which deny them victory. The morale of our troops is so low that more of them commit suicide than are killed in combat. The last thing we need right now is some blowhard president who has spent his whole life in gambling and other ungodly corrupt practices to make himself rich at other people’s expense. No human is going to make America great again—only God can do that. What we need is a man with steel resolve to lead us back to God and godly values, so that God will once again bless us. Consider this resolve:
I, Mike Huckabee, pledge allegiance to God, the Constitution, and the citizens of the United States:
- I will adhere to the Constitution of the United States.
- I will oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes.
- I will advocate for a complete overhaul of our tax system. This means passing the FairTax and abolishing the IRS.
- I will support a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution.
- I will now, and will for the duration of my presidency, promote and sign all measures leading to Obamacare’s defunding, deauthorization, and repeal.
I will oppose amnesty and government benefits for illegal immigrants who violated our laws, repeal President Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders, and secure our borders.- I will stand for the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception until the grave. Taking this unequivocal stand includes fighting to defund Planned Parenthood.
- I will stand for the Institution of Marriage and vigorously oppose any redefinition.
- I will defend our 2nd Amendment rights and oppose gun control legislation.
- I will fight for the United States military to be the most feared, respected, and capable fighting force the world has ever known. I will restore our military infrastructure after years of abuse and neglect.
- I will stand with our friend and ally Israel in our shared fight against Radical Islam.
- I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear capability.
- I will end the national disgrace of failing to properly care for our veterans.
- I will protect Social Security and Medicare and never rob seniors of the benefits they were promised and forced to pay for.
- I will fight to kill Common Core and restore common sense. Education is a family function — not a federal function.
- I will support the elevation of none but faithful constitutionalists as judges or justices. They must be committed to restraint and applying the original meaning of the Constitution, not legislating from the bench.
- I will fight for term limits for members of Congress and judges.
Huckabee will make a formidable commander-in-chief, having the most extensive first-hand knowledge of conditions in the Middle East of any of the candidates, having traveled to Israel and many other Middle Eastern countries dozens of times to see with his own eyes what is going on and why.
No country will be blessed that does not bless God’s chosen nation—Israel. And no presidential candidate has blessed Israel more than Mike Huckabee. He is a personal friend to Benjamen Neteyahu and many other Israeli leaders. He will not be bullied by those who hate the USA and Israel. He has pledged to nullify the treasonous treaty Obama made with Iran, which funds Iran with billions of dollars to finish producing nuclear bombs. Is that not wise, considering that even as I type these words, Iran is bragging that it will some day destroy both Israel and the USA?
It has been projected that the national debt will be 20 trillion dollars by the time Obama’s leaves office. Our economy is only being kept from collapse by borrowing more and more money, which can’t continue much longer. The economy will very likely collapse shortly after Obama leaves office. When that crisis hits, the next president must know what to do to save the nation from total destruction. Consider Huckabee’s well-thought-out economic plan:
Secure our borders, and end illegal immigration, to end the $113 billion dollars per year that illegal immigrants are costing us. That is $1,117 per taxpayer household!
Cut the present humongous wasteful and treasonous spending so as to balance the budget for the first time since Republicans led by Newt Gingrich forced it to be balanced in 1998.
- Repeal ObamaCare to drastically lower the cost of health care.
- Reject the failed Obama-Clinton socialist policies that punish working families and encourage government dependency.
- Allow the drilling for oil and gas on USA soil. We have hundreds of years of untapped energy under our feet. Says Huckabee, “We can power ourselves out of this deep economic hole with common sense energy independence.” Why should we continue to buy oil from Arab countries so that they can use the profit to fund terrorism against us, which is extremely expensive to fight? Why not profit from selling our own energy, and let the terrorist-funding countries sink?
- Implement the FairTax plan which will eliminate federal withholding taxes, individual income taxes, corporate taxes, tax on savings, estate (death) taxes, and self-employment taxes. The FairTax will also abolish the IRS and the vast amount of corruption caused by lobbyists sent to Washington D.C. to milk the present socialist income tax system. The FairTax will force criminals and illegal aliens to pay tax, thus bring billions of more dollars into the treasury to help pay off the national debt. The FairTax will make the USA the tax haven of the world, thereby returning an estimated $13 trillion dollars of capital back to the USA, along with a multitude of factories and jobs.
Huckabee is often falsely accused of raising taxes while governor of Arkansas. The fact is he cut taxes over 90 times as governor. A new tax was raised to repair Arkansas’ disintegrated highways and parks, but this was something the people want and voted overwhelmingly to get, not something Huckabee forced upon them.
Huckabee deserves a lot of the credit for the tidal wave of Republican victory in 2012. He raised funds for, and personally campaigned for, Republican candidates all across the country. If those men really believed what they assured him they believed in order to obtain his support, and are grateful and honorable men, they should endorse and support him now.
The presidency is not the place for an apprentice. We are at war—this is not a time for on-the-job training. Gov. Mike Huckabee has the most government executive experience of all the candidates, having governed the state of Arkansas 10 and 1/2 years. Being a senator gives a person legislative experience, not executive experience. Being a businessman gives a person business experience, not government executive experience. Being a surgeon gives a person surgical experience, not government executive experience. Would you trust a governor untrained in surgery to operate on your brain? Of course not, you would seek out a trained surgeon. Why then would you trust a surgeon untrained in government to govern the most powerful country on earth? He will not know how. Nor will a businessman know how. Let the surgeon and businessman start out in local government, and work their way up. Let them learn how to govern a city or state before attempting to make them president of the USA. History proves Huckabee knows how to govern extremely well. That is vitally important!
Huckabee is the only proven winner against the Clintons. He is the only candidate who has gone to war with the Clintons’ vicious political machine, and beat them. They spent millions of dollars to try to stop Huckabee in Arkansas, and failed. The liberal news media fears him more than any other candidate, because when he became governor of Arkansas he made sure the politicians engaged in criminal activity were prosecuted and sent to prison. That is why liberals in both parties try to prevent him from having any chance to speak. Every time he speaks he exposes their lies and corruptness so clearly that people see that he speaks truth. Huckabee is an excellent communicator, a skilled government executive, and a proven winner. Why would we instead choose a beginner to fight against the Clinton machine? Would it be wise for a man to begin a boxing career by fighting the heavyweight champion of the world? No, of course not. He would be wise to start out by training hard under a good coach, lift weights to increase his strength, fight in practice matches with other beginners, then enter the golden gloves, and work his way up as he gains skill and experience. If he has boxing talent he will advance. Otherwise, he will soon realize that he is getting the snot beat out of himself, and so will drop out. What would happen if instead he fought the world champion in his very first fight? He would almost certainly get his brains knocked out. Don’t bet on a beginner when the future of your children and grandchildren is at stake.
Huckabee was elected Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas in 1993, and has been actively involved in politics ever since—for 22 years. He was the pastor of a church before that, but has not pastored a church for 22 years! I point this out because his past as a preacher seems to be the number one thing held against him—even by Christians! How stupid is that? Joseph, who as second ruler of the Egyptian government saved Egypt from starvation, was a preacher. Moses, who lead the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt to freedom, was a preacher. Daniel, who held a high position in the government of Persia, was a preacher. David, the greatest king of Israel, was a preacher after God’s own heart. Jesus, the King of kings, is a preacher. Being a preacher does not disqualify Huckabee, it makes him more qualified. Huckabee believed it to be God’s will for him to enter politics, and I agree. I’m thankful to have a man of such high character to vote for. Had more Christian leaders supported Huckabee in the 2008 primary, instead of supporting John (liberal, Christian-hating, Democrat-in-Republican-clothes) McCain or other liberals, we would very likely not have been suffering under the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama for the last seven years. Republicans can’t win presidential elections without the Christian vote. A very significant number of Christians will not vote for liberals no matter what their party. If Republicans want to win the general elections, they are going to have to quit choosing liberals during the primaries. People who want to vote liberal-atheist-socialist vote Democrat, not Republican. All Christians should get solidly behind Huckabee now so as to win the primary, so that we can win the general election in 2016. I logged into www.mikehuckabee.com, and gave as much as my family can afford each month as a recurring donation through the duration of Huckabee’s campaign. I recommend that you do the same.
